Blogging...hummm

So, in all honesty, I have no idea how long this thing will last. I woke up early, Elliot's still asleep, so I was playing around on the Internet looking at the parents-to-be Scott and Danielle's blog and thought, "Blogging...hummmm...I might just be bored enough." Turns out I am.

So I don't know where I should start. Birth seems a bit too early, so I guess I'll give a little summary of the past year-ish although most of you already know all of it.

Elliot and I got married in Maui on May 28, 2006. When we came back we decided to jump off the deep end and move here. So...here we are. We have been living in Kahului for a little over 10 months now. We like our condo and where it's located in relation to Costco, Walmart, and other places we don't need to spend money. But, we find ourselves either driving to the other side of the island to go to the beach, or just not going to the beach. So, after driving there weekend after weekend, we thought maybe, just maybe, we should get a place there.

So, we entered the crazy world of real estate on our own and found out it's full of crazies! The first place we were really interested in the agent was not so much what I would call smart. It was going into foreclosure and he didn't know how to contact the bank. He said he kept getting routed to India. The next place seemed really great! It was 3 bedrooms, which is super fancy over here in the land of mini dwellings, and a great price! After going back and forth for awhile and agreeing on a price, the owner told us the renter in there was HUD and had a lease till December...2008!

Sooooo...We felt discouraged, but in looking at the 3 bedroom we decided we could spend a little more than we had planned and started looking a some new options. We found a 2 bedroom, 2 full bath (extra fancy!) across the street from a great beach. We put in an offer, and they came back with $1500 more...yeah, not $15,000...$1,500. So we said, hummm, ok!

El went through the place with our agent (who has been totally awesome and a wealth of knowledge) and the home inspector and everything checks out!

I have no idea what the next step is. I try to stay out of this stuff as much as possible...my little brain just can't take it! I pick up stuff here and there, but for the most part I just let Elliot tell me what's going on.

Well, this is super long and I'm sure a bit boring. I may have lost some along the way, but that's how it goes I guess. It's like seeing someones vacation pictures. Anyway, it's very exciting for us, so sorry if this is a little rambly!
