pup-date (get it...a pup update?)

how clever am i?

anyway, i forgot to add this stuff last night...i was too excited to add the super cutie pics of the puppers up.

we took them both to the vet to get to know them. we picked a vet in kahului, which is further away, but they were so much nicer. there was a little incident when we thought we would need to take nelly boy to the vet (more about that later) and we call the vet right down the road and they were less than helpful. they yelled at elliot and told him not to bring him over till they "approved it" and gave them a credit card to charge $400 dollars on it. and when ka'ili got bit by something that gave him an allergic reaction, and the kahului vet told us what to do over the phone with out even knowing us or him.

so anyway, we took them each to the vet, pops first. they gave him some blood tests because of his little episode. we called them after the kihei vet, and since they took so long to yell at us, by the time we talked to our vet he had stopped. he gets all shaky and stiff. not like a seizure, but definitely not normal. anyway, he got a clean bill of health! the vet thought he might have licked a toad, but gave us some puppy valium if it lasts over 6 minutes. so it happened that weekend, el gave him his puppy meds and he stopped, so the vet said it prob wasn't a toad and was some sort of seizure type episode. she said give him half the amount next time and see what happens.

ka'ili went about a week later and the vet said he was nice and healthy! and he had the softest fur. she loved them both and said we were good puppy parents to bring them in when they weren't sick to check on them.

we figure it only takes us 15-20 minutes to get there and it would prob take the vet that long to get there and set up anyway. So we like our new vet, they are super nice, give us free advice over the phone, and they like our pups and are super nice to them. they even gave us free doggy treats.

That's awesome...I definitely appreciate a good vet. We have two cats and I love them too much for any healthily (?) sane person to love two cats, but that's okay. I take them to annual vet check ups and my vet was definitely impressed. Oh, and I teared up a little when they got shots last time. See? Maybe not healthy. :) I love reading about your little fur-babies :)
