Remember when...

there was a Monsoon on Maui? Well...it's here again! I think it's those darn Kona winds. something about the hot and the cold mixing and making storms...who knows!

anyhoo! they closed all school...IN THE WHOLE STATE! Seriously! who knows what else is closed! anyway, no work tomorrow for me.

I was having a little trouble with my phone today, so it may be the same tomorrow. everything should be fine, they're mostly worried about the high winds knocking down power lines and having to get all the kids out of school. so, we should be fine.

but...it makes for some CRAZY waves! i saw some cool ones today! i guess they're supposed to be 25-30 feet tomorrow...and bigger! if we don't have power maybe we'll go drive out and look at them.

So I think it rained a little bit last night, but really? Shut down every school in the state? It's really not windy at all! They were saying that there were supposed to be gusts up to 70 MPH today. Maybe it just hasn't gotten to us yet. Who knows.

***SECOND UPDATE***

so i read in the paper that A gust was recorded at 2pm on friday that was 60mph. i was talking to my friends who are from the mid west and back east when they were talking to their families they had to shut school down because you couldn't walk outside without becoming a human popsicle...or it was too cold for the buses to start. we closed cause it might be windy! heehee
