12th Youth Ukulele Festival

El was the official time keeper at this thing. It was fun! It was at the Hula Grill (great chicken sammies) in Kaanapali. They have an outdoor restaurant called The Barefoot Bar and it's all sand.

Anyway, the festival had kids from Kindergarten to 12th grade. Some of these kids were ridiculously good, and ridiculously cute! I was taking pictures with my camera, but then got wrangled into being the resident paparazzi and started taking pics for one of the main sponsors. The kids were under an umbrella thing they have, so some of the pics are pretty dark. Here are some of the pictures that I got...

This little girl was 7 and super cute!

So this little bugger was 5 years old and pretty much the cutest thing I have ever seen...ever! He yodeled! That’s right, yodeled! How cute is that?!
The little girl won the Ukulele and the little guy won a bunch of tickets and gift cards...really good stuff!

This is the cute little yodeler's sister. She was 9 and I almost cried when she started singing. She had the most beautiful falsetto voice
This kid sang Sean Kingston's Beautiful Girls! How funny is that?! The little boy won the Uke and I heard him ask his dad after going back to his table, "Does that mean I won?"
This kid sang a Shaggy song...
This is the eldest of the yodeling/falsetto clan. I don't have a pic, but he won the Uke.
Another little guy did an instrumental of what we think is a church song.

This kid was insane! He play a Jimi Hendrix song perfectly.
He played a Jake song and, as Paula would say, he made it his own.
He is super good. He and his family also teach lessons to other kids. The sponsor who donated the Ukes gave him an extra one for his students.
This kid could singThe kid in the lightest shirt one the Uke (the one who got the extra for his students) and Uncle George (far right) gave them all scholarships to his camp.
The girl in the middle could belt it out!

This is the family playing together
They played the song blindfolded...
remember this little guy...what a ham!
This little girl sang Christmas songs...too cute!

Overall it was a fun day and if you're into Hawaiian music you'll be seeing the in the future!
